Bolivia: In the last email I had prematurely announced the arrival of all Bolis in BA (as I was told by phone "we have picked up all" - with the arg + FW boluses of a particular flight was meant). Lucas, Mateo, Max and Theresa were in Sao Paulo a few extra hours stuck on and ended up with a corresponding delay in BA (and collected). Meanwhile, they have the Argentine-Bolivian Villazon limit is reached and still have about 18 hours (500 kilometers) ahead. Begins in the Cochabamba on-arrival training.
Lukas writes. "I'm fine, we are safely all and with all arriving baggage Alitalia canceled two minutes before departure, we had to fast all the baggage re-submit, accept and then Air France via Paris at the end only. 30minten more ... Buenos Aires is great and pretty fucked up, we have fun, green everything. "
Just now (03/09, evening) Leave Luke and Phil, that our Bolis arrive tonight, tomorrow at the latest early in Cocha. Everything ok!
Obsolete: Alt FW Phi Schrauth briefed at 02:09 from Cocha:
"So The gang's arrived safely in Villazon and does in these minutes on the way towards Potosi, since there are no direct flights to Cochabamba. Next to it is then probably Cocha evening when the buses leave from there apparently only in the evening, as we have heard.
The OAT should thus shifted by one day start on Tuesday.
Greetings from Cochabamba
Phil "

Brazil: The first real attack is lightly passed over the stage.
blessing in disguise - and a real warning shot across the bow for all of us.
old volunteer Leon (who just finished his service) was traveling alone at night by 2 clock and was forced to hand over his valuables.
context: The Old volunteers were on the first evening, "a beer" with New FW-Jakob and stayed until late at night hanging in the pub. When paying, missing a few reais (less than 2 €), so that was one of the previous home to get the missing coins. On the way home we began to see vorgehaltenem attack with knives. He was in the FW housing "accompanied" and robbed, remained completely intact otherwise. Loss came an old laptop, 30 € and an old phone.
course, Leon (and we!) Get a big shock and we are in the next few days the situation thoroughly analyzed.
However, we find the behavior of Leon also extremely negligent and inappropriate, Who by 2 clock umherlaeuft alone at night, have to live in most countries of operation with this risk. We have seen
Fortaleza and especially the residential Jose Walter in the last 3 years as safe and suitable.
In compliance with rules of conduct, it still appears to be a reasonable option.

Dominican Republic: Here we go! All 5 have arrived safely in Santo Domingo. By 4 clock in the morning, their predecessors and greeters thought, however, by 4 clock in the afternoon (even if it is again with their successors long history Skyped had), so that the collection did not proceed as planned, so we sent the new taxi into the civilian WG. The mood is good. http://www.flickr.com/photos/weltweiteinitiative/1312466989/in/set-72157601478922913/

Luke Wetzel writes in his already 3. (!) Report include:
"Morning I work in the home for social orphans "El Oasis de la Ninez AC". We support the teachers, especially in the homework and lunch. On the second day of our work there, so on Thursday the 23th August, Patrick and I assigned one group of children to support. I have one of four second Graders (Abel, Marco Antonio, Christian and Ezequerel), and the 4th Graders Brian and Gerardo.
The homework usually begins half an hour after our arrival, that is about 9.30 clock. Since there are at 12 clock lunch, stay for 2 ½ hours to do their homework. The problem is that on the one hand, 2 ½ hours for a 2nd Grade students a very long time and the children can concentrate just over three quarters of an hour in full. But on the other hand, the children need, because of their learning residue, very long time for their homework. They usually start quite rapidly and motivated, but no later than after 45 minutes of their concentration reduced significantly and they work more slowly or not at all. At that moment, a pause would be really important, but I have yet dared not to grant them, for fear that not enough then more time for the remaining tasks remain. So I try to motivate them again and again to get them to work on.
clock starts at 12 then lunch. While the meal, we all have a table three of 15 children, whom he supervised. While I do my best to ensure peace and order your dinner, but it is Carmelita, the number of flying through the air corn tortillas (tortilla) can really reduce. After dinner, the children brush their teeth and then get gel and comb, to familiarize yourself ready for school. The bus will take home their own by 13 clock to their school.
On two afternoons a week, Wednesday and Thursday, I also work four hours in the district project Acortar distancias. Wednesday I was at my request by the head Magui Merino Govela in the course Lideres del futuro, which concerns the teaching of certain values will go, Thursday divided into football training. It is important to mention that we run the courses not only volunteers, but initially support a staff of Acortar distancias.
All in all, my first days were interesting, instructive, challenging and motivating. And although of course I'm homesick too, so I'm happy here at my work in very Gaudalajara, Mexico.
"Do you know what the sad thing is, Luke?" Says Alfredo, a friend of ours, who also worked with the very first volunteers had friends here. "It's not just that many rich poverty in their country does not matter, many do not even know how many people really live here. "

Nicaragua:
What a farewell! Our Nicas are "perceived 500 people" have been adopted ...
Thank you to all parents and friends that show in this way, how much they stand behind our young people!
The prizes are picked up by Tim FW Alt and Arnold in San Jose. We expect tomorrow with the arrival mail along with photo.

Alt FW Stefan writes in his 11th and last but one review from Nueva Guinea, Nicaragua
"My two Mitzivis Patrick and Catherine had convinced this year so that they now want to become teachers. With these thoughts I've also added more often flirted, but the interest for the physical-technical then has yet prevailed, making it "energy and process" will be (with focus on renewable energy in Nicaragua, because I found the steady stream of cases here have enough; -.))
The new "old life" will catch up with me quicker than I like, too heavy, the farewell, the culture shock after the return of perhaps greater than the arrival here. Too fast will pass the last month of September just flew by, until I'm sitting on the plane itself. The return ticket I've had, arrival is 5 October.
Now we are the veterans who greet the new volunteers who are preparing to land and people, to share our experiences, incorporate them into the projects and eventually leave.
The farewell is warm and sad, but I'm looking forward again to meienr at home again study life, to a hot bath at the weekend, on a cold winter evening, the silver wedding parents or out Saturday night just to watch the Bundesliga and on my friend of course. Despite all the melancholy I am grateful for all experienced, suffered, learned! A large part of this I want to express my thanks donors! forget
Nicaragua will not go too well, as this intense year simply become part of my life. I hope to return next August, maybe I can spend a couple of internships in the reports renewable energy (geothermal, solar energy or wind power).
The last three weeks I will again live with a host family, as it is for the new to start with. Then finally it says every morning gallo pinto (rice with red beans, the national dish of Nicaragua) and watch TV at night times. Furthermore, I'm looking forward to help in the long talks with Maria Luisa, my host mother and to Jose Ling, her daughter at school.
What does it mean in a "developing country" to live, we were recently again experience. Because one person had died (transferred from the dengue mosquito) on dengue fever had summarily be "fumigiert." Say every house and every garden by members of the Health Ministry eingeräuchert. The steam must include any Insektizit, because on the same and the following days were with us constantly dead cockroaches on the roof. Since the deaths of no return. For the people shall go out no Gafahr, but we have unanimously decided not Deskontaminierung or avoided.
to work at the school (table tennis, tutoring and sometimes short primary school teachers be) promote
order to the array of sports at school, I was able to organize a table tennis table. This dream I had already from the beginning, and my principal would like Elba has already had possessed, but unfortunately little time and money to work on it. Unfortunately, after a fun busy week both table tennis balls have been broken (even though I repeatedly pointed out that there are only these two, and if they break or disappear once there is no DD). There are no in Managua and it takes only hours to visit the shop, where the balls are then offered at a price of 1 U.S. dollar. So we are waiting eagerly for the new volunteers from Deutschalnd to hopefully bring some. But otherwise it is a very attractive alternative to football, and generally a healthy Sport.
the end, I want to thank you for all the feedback in response of my last report. Especially pleased I have € 500 on the donation for the local school, which was collected during school holiday service in school gate. ¡Thanks!
you soon! Your
Stefan "
